I would like to start off by saying that its taken me this long to create a post on this situation because I've been trying to wrap my head around the situation.
As a result of an Israeli court ruling, Palestinian families have been forced out of their homes and onto the streets in Sheikh Jarrah (East Jerusalem) to allow for Israeli families and individuals to live in their homes.
During the last ten days of Ramadan, when people were gathered at Masjid al Aqsa, the Israeli army attacked Palestinians who were praying with rubber bullets, water cannons and tear gas as well as setting places outside the mosque on fire then celebrating afterwards. Also, 1/4 of the casualties as a result of these attacks on Palestine have been children, families saying they'll sleep in the same room every night in case a rocket strikes so that none of them are left alone mourning for each other. The Israeli army using rocket strikes and bombs as a retaliation against Palestinians who were protecting their families and homes, saying that 'they are getting violent and started the conflict' when it was the Israelis who struck first. Not only that but the Israeli army get $3.8 billion a year from the US in military aid, allowing for the army to equip themselves with all the ammunition they need to attack and keep attacking Palestine and its people.
And yet, somehow, with all this going on, the people in power, leaders of countries, politicians, celebrities etc are not using their platforms to speak up. Why are the people with the loudest voices the ones choosing not to amplify the cause or to spread the word? It is now up to us to come together to spread awareness, protest and fight for justice until Palestine gets its freedom and to save the residents of Sheikh Jarrah - both those forced out and those fearing they'll be next. We won't rest until Palestine is free from this nightmare.
Speaking up about the injustices that the Palestinian people are facing isn't an Islamic or religious issue, there are Palestinians of all religions being persecuted and killed... it is a human issue. Anyone against the liberation and freedom of Palestine and its people, is condoning an ethnic cleansing and genocide. Also, simply sitting back, even though you don't agree with what's happening to Palestine and its people is just as bad. There is no excuse to not help - you can speak out about the matter, and if you feel you're not in the position to do so, you can repost vidoes, tweets, articles etc and donate to charities and causes to help with emergency aid for the people in Palestine and Gaza. Everything you do helps get us closer to freeing Palestine from the Israeli occupation.
I've provided a link below that you can donate to to help fund the aid, as well as a link to petitions you can sign:
I would also like to state that there should not be any hate sent towards Jewish people, its not them but Israel that we are fighting against.... there are so many Jewish people who are against what Israel is doing and who stand with Palestine and its people.. if you are sending hate to Jewish people as a whole you are missing the point.... ITS ANTI-ZIONISM NOT ANTISEMITISM!
